Man Wanted For Escape While Awaiting Trial For Violating Protective Order In Maryland: Sheriff

A 54-year-old man is wanted for escape after ditching his electronic monitoring device while out on a pretrial release in St. Mary's County for violating a protective order.

An alert was issued by the sheriff's office on Monday, Aug. 12 regarding Anthony Terrell West, who removed his GPS monitor late last month after being released from the county's Detention and Rehabilitation Center in Leonardtown.

At the time, he was on pretrial release for violating a protective order and telephone misuse: single call, according to the St. Mary's County Sheriff's Office.

West reportedly cut off his GPS device and left it before fleeing the area.

West was described as being 5-foot-8, weighing approximately 300 pounds. No details about charges against him were released by investigators.
